I will be in Boston (Newton to be precise) on November 18th to celebrate the launch of Lynne Griffin’s new novel Girl Sent Away. I’ll also be reading a little from Girls I Know. I suppose, if you were inclined to bad puns, you might characterize this as a girls night out. Lynne’s new novel takes a hard look at adolescent mental health issues but the book does much more than that; it also examines, through a set of richly drawn characters, how the treatment and experiences of suffering teenagers play out in a family and a community. I haven’t read at Newtonville Books since my first book came out so I’m very excited to make it back there. Please come out if you can!
