New Short Fiction

I’m so thrilled to have a new story, entitled “The Program in Profound Thought,” in the latest issue of the Notre Dame Review. “Program” is about a burned-out academic who has been running a fake lecture series for years, until a new dean at his institution discovers his shenanigans. The story also features a drug-addled brother, a thinly veiled description of Iowa City, and a ferocious raccoon.

Last month, another story of mine appeared in The Minnesota Review. “The Novelist and the Short Story Writer” is about writing conferences, commercial versus experimental fiction, and autism.

Please support these great journals, and the writers whose work they nurture.
